did you know that the greatest risks from pesticides in the diet come from eating conventionally produced fruits and vegetables? a new free pocket guide can help you avoid the highest-risk fresh produce during both the summer season and winter, when a significant share of fresh produce is imported. go to www.organic-center.org and download the “organic essentials” pocket guide, which lists of conventional fruits and vegetables that the center has determined pose the most significant pesticide-related risks and thus are the most critical produce items for consumers to purchase as organic.
i have been committed to using only organic cotton for loyale clothing because the farmers we work with avoid using pesticides, insecticides and chemical fertilizers, but it is important to ensure that you are eating as healthy as you are dressing!

me with my dog in-law near ketchum, idaho.
as i launch my blog, it is fitting that i have just returned from the birth place of loyale. it was not in my home town new york that this took place, but idyllic sun valley, idaho. while ambling along the sun drenched trails in late july of 2003, i was struck with the idea of creating clothing that was crafted from organic cotton into beautiful, stylish yoga clothing. as some of you know, loyale started as eco-chic yoga apparel and has now morphed into eco-stylin’ contemporary clothing, mainly because i wanted to dress cute and eco all through the day, not just at yoga and the gym. from that day forward, i became obsessed with the business, even while i toiled away at calypso for 2 more years getting loyale off the ground; i’d wake up before sunrise to strategize and go to bed late into the night scheming. returning to the saw tooth mountains of idaho almost 5 years later with 8 collections and 45 retailers under my belt, i felt an interesting mix of nostalgia and accomplishment. i thought upon what a journey i’ve had and the current path in front of me – our own boutique and 100 stores carrying loyale by mid-2009…dream with me!
on this get away, i was also able to reflect on some of the great happenings in the month of june that whizzed by so quickly…
me with 3 honorees from the pay it fashion forward event on june 4th. glamour, lucky, in style & dailycandy chose us as fashion do-gooders.
me describing loyale's business philosophy at women rule! leadership seminar hosted by the white house project & o magazine from june 20 - 23rd.
loyale was also invited to the designers&agents tradeshow in new york and los angeles where we picked up 15 new stores and were interviewed for discovery channel’s “alter ego” green series!
it has been a tremendous few months and i look forward to sharing my future adventures with you on this blog.
